The final episode of the Vampire Diaries is nearly upon us. Due to air on the 14th May, the CW has released the following synopsis & stills from what is Nina Dobrev’s final episode on The Vampire Diaries.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Julie Plec revealed that The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 22 might end with a flash forward. “The show’s not cut yet, so by the time I’m done with it, it might not, but currently it does,” she commented.

I guess you’ll just have to read the synopsis and hang on until the 14th to find out for sure!

In the aftermath of Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) powerful nuptials, things take a dramatic turn when an uninvited guest shows up, leaving Elena (Nina Dobrev) in terrible jeopardy. Despite Matt’s (Zach Roerig) advice to leave town to protect herself, a defiant Bonnie (Kat Graham) takes matters into her own hands after finding herself on the receiving end of a twisted plan. As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) reach an emotional crossroad in their relationship, a reunion with Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino) faced with a decision that could change his life forever. Meanwhile, Lily’s (guest star Annie Wersching) reckless actions cause Stefan to realize the lengths to which his mother will go to reunite with her “family.” Finally, after a devastating chain of events, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to make the most difficult decision of his life. Michael Malarkey also stars. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Julie Plec & Caroline Dries (#622). Original airdate 5/14/2015.

Judging from the photos below, Elena’s departure is anything but joyful

Official Synopsis from the CW: “It’s Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) wedding day and Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) do their best to help a stressed out Jo with the last minute preparations. After uncovering some life-changing news that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) has been keeping from him, Stefan (Paul Wesley) takes his brother on a road trip to give him some perspective on his future with Elena. Elsewhere, when Caroline (Candice Accola) returns to Mystic Falls after dealing with the fallout of her humanity-free rampage, she begins making amends with her friends and comes to a realization about her and Stefan’s prospects of being together. Finally, when Bonnie begins having vivid nightmares that Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) is coming after her, she enlists Matt’s (Zach Roerig) help in taking Lily down.”

Liv’s (Rose McIver) about to become an exceptionally talented gamer. This week’s episode of iZombie involves the investigation of the death of a computer hacker who also did plenty of gaming on the side. Once Liv takes a bite out of his brains, she acquires his tech and gaming knowledge, along with some less desirable traits, as it turns out this person was also agoraphobic.

Explained McIver, “In my own life, I played Crash Bandicoot non-stop until my thumbs got blisters. Other than that, I didn’t really know a lot about the gaming world but working with Rahul [Kohli] and [Robert] Buckley, just the criticism, I’ve never felt so monitored on set. Like when I was talking about things and playing I was like ‘They know I’m faking it!’ But hopefully their professional understanding of it all was very helpful. They told me what did and didn’t work and where you would be looking on the screen at that time. It was quite fun.”

While Liv, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin), and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) are on the case, Blaine (David Anders) gets to know someone close to Liv. Kohli’s real life love of gaming is reflected in the episode, as Ravi gets to use his gaming knowledge to help Liv.
