“Vampire Diaries” fans were shocked by Enzo’s death in last week’s “Vampire Diaries” episode, and his return as a ghost means there’s sure to be lots of drama to come. However, get ready for more: there are at least three more deaths coming in Season 5!
Zap2It writes that “Vampire Diaries” executive producer Caroline Dries confirmed that there will be three more deaths in the next few episodes! She wouldn’t say who will die, but said the deaths are permanent.
Dries opened up to the Hollywood Reporter about what’s next for Enzo.
“Ian pulled me aside one day and he goes, ‘If you kill Enzo, I’m going to quit,'” Dries said. “We purposefully had him show up at the end as a ghost to imply that his story isn’t over. He is going to become a ghost villain moving forward. We’ll see him all the way through to the finale as the bad guy.”
“He can do a lot from the Other Side,” she added. “He’s determined to make Damon’s life and Stefan’s life a living hell. We realize how and why he’s able to do that, and it’s because all the turmoil on the Other Side is giving him more liberties than other ghosts have had. So his story isn’t just about him being the villain but it’s also about us getting a new set of eyes into this world, the Other Side world.”
“Enzo’s pissed that he’s dead but amplified around him, people are being sucked out of the ether just like Vicki was. His concern is, ‘I want out,’ ” she said.
“Damon’s going to promise Enzo [in the next episode] that he’s going to help him get out of there. He has a very clear drive of what he needs. As they’re trying to help Enzo, they’re also trying to help Bonnie and solve that problem of the Other Side and getting their friends out while they can.”
“Damon makes [the] promise under extreme duress, and Damon has no idea what he’s talking about, which just adds to the complication,” Dries added. “He has no clue how to get [Enzo]. Nobody’s ever come out of the Other Side successfully without massive consequences. Damon says it to get out of a moment.”
