Hollywood Life talks to Vampire Diaries starClaire Holt on Rebekah, the cure, Stefan, Matt, and The Originals spin-off.
Warning: Spoilers Below
Sadly, Rebekah was out of commission during Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) breakup, and something tells me she’ll be very interested to learn about it now that she’s back in action.
“There’s definitely going to be a change in their relationship,” Claire says of Rebekah and Stefan. “It’s going to evolve. Rebekah’s goal is to find the cure, so whatever happens with Stefan, it’s going to be less about her feelings and more about the cure — but there’s definitely going to be a change.
But for those fans — myself included — hoping to see the sparks between Rebekah and Matt (Zach Roerig) ignite a full-on flame, Claire’s got some bad news. Basically, don’t hold your breath.
“I think she’s done enough damage to that one,” Claire admits. “I don’t know if that’s going to pan out, but I’m definitely a Rebekah-Matt fan, as well.”
Will Rebekah Appear On ‘The Originals?’
With The Vampire Diaries‘ spin-offThe Originals in the works, everyone wants to know which Mikaelson siblings will make the leap to the new show — including Claire!
“Well, it’s called The Originals and she is an Original, but we haven’t seen a script yet,” Claire says. “I think that’s maybe more of a question for Julie Plec. … It’s not up to me, really, so we’ll have to wait and see where Rebekah goes. But I love Joseph and Phoebe, they’re so great to work with.
