Things are pretty hard to come by when it comes to news on Teen Wolf Season 3 but we’ve managed to dig some up for you!
The casting call is out for two new character to hit Beacon Hills. First up is Heather a long-time friend of Stiles who is celebrating her 17th birthday. Also popping up in Beacon Hills is the mysterious and raven-haired Cora, a beautiful young woman who’s been hardened by a life on her own and has secret ties to the town’s werewolves.
Jeff Davis, executive producer took a break from writing scripts to chat with fans on Twitter.
The details are fairly small because he wants to save his bigger spoilers for the MTV Remote Control Blog, but he did release a few tidbits that are definitely worth a look! These include the fact that Lydia has an older sister we have not seen yet and that Danny will probably be getting a new boyfriend soon. (Davis just replied to the question with a smiley face, but we figured that’s about as close to a yes we could possibly get.)
On the Stiles front, he said we’ll “possibly” get some more details this coming season about Stiles’ mother and what exactly happened to her. He also said that Stiles’ long-term plan to make Lydia fall in love with him isn’t necessarily out the door for good.
When asked about Allison’s role this season and whether she’ll be in the show as much as the past two seasons, Davis said, “Actually more. Her role is fantastic this season.” And, as much as we all love Stephen Lunsford (Matt), Davis did say, “He’s sort of dead. Like really dead.”
Season 3 will start filming on December 3rd. However, he could not give an air date, as that is up to MTV.
Jeff is also giving out a weekly spoiler to fans until the start of Season 3. Recently he has shared information on the meaning of the wolves eye colours.
As die-hard fans of the show know, Alpha wolves have red eyes, while Scott (Tyler Posey) always had eyes that glow amber. Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) and Jackson (Colton Haynes) had glowing blue eyes — at least, until Derek became an Alpha.
So what does it all mean? We’re going to find out. “it has nothing to do with DNA or being a born werewolf,” Davis says, putting to rest the rumor and speculation stirring in the fandom. “Next season, during an important flashback episode, you’ll learn why some werewolves have blue eyes and others do not.”
The flashback episode is centered around Derek as a youth, and will help us learn more about his mysterious past.
Davis also revealed that Posey’s new tattoo would factor in to the season. Posey got two thick bands inked onto his arm this summer, and instead of going to the effort to cover them with makeup (like he does with the rest of Posey’s ink), Davis decided to integrate the tats into the story in a major way.
“The two bands on his arm have a major significance in the first episode, even providing the thematic foundation for the story. Part of the tattoo, the musical note, will still have to be covered up, however,” Davis says.
The Alpha Pack will be making their way to our screens come next year, posing a major threat to our favorite werewolves and their friends. And even though this is a pack of alpha werewolves, they will have chosen a leader through democratic means. This leader is called the Alpha and the Omega, but now we also know his name!
In the very first episode of this new season, we’ll be meeting Deucalion, the leader of this new pack that has come to “fix” an issue in Beacon Hills (which we know has something to do with Jackson and his kanima problem). Deucalion — who we seriously hope will be nicknamed Duke or something a little less… Ancient Greek — is described as being eloquent and intelligent. That sounds like the beginnings of a great villain!
The name is interesting, to say the least, because in Greek mythology Deucalion is the son of Prometheus, the Titan that created the human race and stole fire from the gods in order to give it to the humans. Deucalion is the Greek equivalent of Noah, having survived a flood by riding it out in a box, along with his wife Pyrrha. Though it’s too early to say if the name will have any significance for the storyline, one guess could be that by the end of season 3, Deucalion could be the only alpha left standing.
Heading out of the realm of speculation and back into the land of facts, we do know that Deucalion has a plan. He wants to turn Derek and Scott against each other. Well, that probably won’t be too difficult, seeing as the two don’t exactly see eye to eye on most things in the first place.
