But since the show decided to keep him alive, there must be a reason. I’ve come up with five possible storylines for Matt that could actually make the character interesting and important. A Matt-Caroline-Tyler Love Triangle After Caroline saved Matt and revealed to Tyler that she knows more about his new condition than he thought she did, I sensed sparks between Caroline and Tyler. Perhaps the fact that they’re both newly-turned supernatural creatures will cause a romance to form. We’ve already seen that a female vampire and a male werewolf make excellent bedfellows. This romance could cause Matt to rethink his decision to dump Caroline, creating a new love triangle that puts a vampire in between two friends. A Matt-Jenna-Alaric Love Triangle Given the fact that Matt’s mom is an absentee parent who slept with Tyler, it would only make sense that he could have some serious mommy issues. In that case, it might make sense for him to turn to an older woman, and watching Matt try to pursue Jenna might be pretty entertaining. Add a New Female Werewolf Love Interest After the masquerade ball where both Aimee and Sarah were killed, the female student population at Mystic Falls High School is getting very low. So why not bring in a new student for Matt to date. To make it worth her while, she could also be a werewolf, since you can’t have just one, causing problems when Tyler develops a strange connection to her. Make Matt a New Kind of Creature The Vampire Diaries has vampires, werewolves and witches, so why not let Matt introduce a new type of creature. I’m not sure what he’d be, but based on True Blood, fairies are known for being extremely pretty. Maybe this explains why Katherine couldn’t go two seconds without commenting on Matt’s hotness. Kill Matt The best time to kill a character is when you’d least suspect it. Since Matt was supposed to die at the masquerade ball but didn’t, he now seems safe and the danger is over. That’s why actually killing him off now would be a huge surprise and a great twist.

Does it mean that Elena wont let others die because of Katherine?? Or does it mean that she won’t give up her humanity for Stefan?? Or it could be that death is a sacrifice Katherine is all too willing to make and the tagline is just pointing out how Elena is not this bad girl. The idea of a sacrifice ties into Episode 10, which will reportedly be called “The Sacrifice” and air on December 2. What do you think??? Is this Elena? Or is this Katherine?? Come and join our discussions over at our forum!!

Dean isn’t the only one with a laundry list of questions. In sticking with the brutal honesty theme, we came up with a list of questions we’d ask show runner Sera Gamble if we could dose her with truth serum. (Don’t worry, Sera… we haven’t actually figured out how to get our hands on any, yet, so you don’t need to worry about being accosted. Yes.) 1. What happened to Sam in hell? Padalecki told Zap2it when we visited the “Supernatural” set that Sam’s tour of duty was worse than Dean’s was… and Dean spent thirty years being sliced and diced, and another ten years doing the carving. Could Sam’s trauma be the reason behind his very unSamlike behavior this season? And speaking of which… 2. Is Sam actually Sam? In “You Can’t Handle the Truth,” Castiel will assure Dean that Sam’s body isn’t still possessed by Lucifer. Still, it appears that there’s a light on, but Sam Winchester isn’t home. 3. What do angels do with the souls they’re collecting? Balthazar said that souls are valuable to both angels and demons. We know that when a demon buys a soul, the soul goes to hell, where it’s tortured until it becomes a demon. But what does an angel do with a soul that’s bought and paid for? And is there a connection between the sudden run on souls for clearance prices and Sam’s not-Sam-ness? 4. What is Samuel’s (Mitch Pileggi) master plan? Instead of killing monsters, Samuel is collecting them like lab specimens. Is he using them for research purposes? Building his own little monster army? What is his agenda and why does he feel the need to keep it from Sam, especially now that Sam has put hunting at #1 on his priority list, bumping Dean out of the top spot. Continue reading »
